At a town hall meeting, a man feuding with officials, the dispute was over Rockne Newells' property, he opened fire in the crown. State police said Rockne Warren Newell, 59, of Ross Township, 30 miles north of Allentown, first fired a long gun through the Ross Township municipal building windows during a town supervisors meeting around 7:20 p.m. Fifteen to 18 members of the township's Supervisors Council and the public were at the meeting. Newell then entered the building, still firing, before briefly leaving and returning with a handgun, police said.

It Fell From The Sky

A Cannock Chase resident took this photograph during a particularly bad downpour. She claimed the creature fell out of the sky and landed in her garden. Not recognizing the species, and perplexed by the origin of this alien-looking beast, I was contacted. Luckily, thanks to great minds like DR Karl Shuker, the creature was soon identified as a Hawk-moth Caterpillar.

Kilonova: A Thousand Times Brighter Than A Nova, NASA Finds Smoking Gun Of New Kind Of Stellar Blast

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has provided the strongest evidence yet that short-duration gamma-ray bursts are triggered by the merger of two small, super-dense stellar objects, such as a pair of neutron stars or a neutron star and a black hole. The definitive evidence came from Hubble observations in near-infrared light of the fading fireball produced in the aftermath of a short gamma-ray burst (GRB). The afterglow reveals for the first time a new kind of stellar blast called a kilonova, an explosion predicted to accompany a short-duration GRB. A kilonova is about 1,000 times brighter than a nova, which is caused by the eruption of a white dwarf.
